If not for Garth’s lyric’s “A worn out tape of Chris LeDoux, lonely women and bad booze, seem to be the only friends I have left at all.” some may not have never known the name Chris LeDoux. So thank you Garth! But grass roots country fans did…they knew him for years. They knew all his hits like “Cadillac Ranch,” “Whatcha Gonna Do With A Cowboy,” and “Look at You Girl.” Today fans around the world remember Chris on the anniversary of his death on March 9, 2005. Chris passed away from a rare liver disease. In addition to being a classic country music Icon, Chris competed on the rodeo circuit and was even a national Finals Rodeo world bareback champion. When Capital Records signed him in 1992, Chris has recorded 22 albums. Most sold out of the back of his truck at rodeos. Good Ride cowboy!
